Enrollment Information
Enrollments vary by age group
All spaces are first come, first served. The youngest we currently take is 1 or walking, and we cannot accept children aged 13 or older. We must charge full price for tuition regardless of your child’s weekly attendance, as you pay for the enrollment slot and not the care itself.

1's and 2's Enrollment
Our enrollment for the one and two-year-old classrooms is done completely through the HeadStart Consortium. The process begins by talking to the Family and Community Support, a liaison between El Campito and Head Start. If you call El Campito’s main office, they can give you the proper phone number, as it often changes. Please know that spaces are limited, and early enrollment is encouraged. You must qualify for Early HeadStart to be able to enroll in our one-year-old and two-year-old classes. See eligibility criteria HERE.
3's and 4/5's Enrollment
Enrollment for our three-year-old class and our four and five-year-old classes is almost completely the same. The only difference is that our four and five-year-old class is strictly Pre-K. If your child is not attending kindergarten the school year following this one, they cannot attend in the four and five-year-old classroom due to On-My-Way-Pre-K voucher restrictions. For information about enrolling, please call our main office at 574-232-0220 and ask for the Director of Programs and Operations, Ms. Denyse. The process of enrollment is as follows:
-
Call and give information to be put into leads.
-
Set up a tour of the building.
-
Wait for a phone call once a space becomes available (unless told otherwise).
-
Secure a payment method, either through the voucher or out of pocket. Please note: Securing a voucher can take some time, so it’s best to start early.
-
Complete an enrollment appointment with Ms. Denyse in which you will set up your child in our SmartCare childcare management system, fill out all necessary paperwork, and sign up for all of our communications.
-
You must also attend an orientation with the teachers. This is available at the beginning of each school year. If enrolling mid-year, you are responsible for setting up a one-on-one orientation with your child’s teacher before they can start.
-
Once these things are finished, you can agree on a day to start with Ms. Denyse.
School Age Enrollment
School Age (Before/After School)
We know that needs can vary for before and after care for school-aged children. Please determine this before inquiry. You must also determine whether your child’s school can send a bus to and from El Campito. You will need to call your school's transportation system to see whether or not this is possible. Once you know it is possible, you can start the enrollment process as follows:
-
Call and give information to be put into leads.
-
Set up a tour of the building.
-
Wait for a phone call once a space becomes available (unless told otherwise).
-
Secure a payment method, either through the voucher or out of pocket. Please note: Securing a voucher can take some time, so it’s best to start early.

School Age (Summer/Breaks)
The process is similar but not exactly the same for summers and or breaks. Before the end of the school year, we need to know whether your child will be attending for the summer. The transition is seamless if your child is currently enrolled in before-and-after-school care. However, if you only enroll your child for the summer and/or breaks, you must follow these steps for new enrollment:
-
Call and give information to be put into leads.
-
Set up a tour of the building.
-
Wait for a phone call once a space becomes available (unless told otherwise).
-
Secure a payment method, either through the voucher or out of pocket. Please note: Securing a voucher can take some time, so it’s best to start early.
